need help how to find the total of same category , by overall, quarter, month etc.

hi 

I have two data one of items with Category and it's section link to with amount plan and spend

i like to create a dynamic way to view

1) total spend vs plan   by all section and category  

• by YTD
• by quarter (Apr to Jun is 1st Q)
• by Monthly

2) is there any way to have the dropdown to select and it will auto calculate?

Not sure how to do that.
