My group function in Data>Outline is unavailable
I would like to be able to group columns and rows but the function is greyed out
- you cant group in a named table...
you have to active a cell which is not part of the named table, then the option is available again - If only the group bars are not displayed. File -> Options -> Advanced -> Show options for this workbook / worksheet: Show outline symbols if an outline has been applied -> checkmark!
a) Does the workbook have protection?
b) Has the workbook been shared?
If a) is yes, then release it (Tools - Share workbook) and you can group again.
