Multiple Excel Files should Open at the Same Size as when closed
I work with large multiple workbooks. In order to get them fitted on the screen, I restrict the size and shape for each one (differently) to the aspect required for the task.
But when they close (which MS can do with no notice) then reopen, they all open to the same size on top of each other and laid over all the other windows currently on the screen. I then need to sort out the arrangement, change the size and view before starting work. What a waste of time, every time!
How can I tell Excel to open them as they were closed: placing, size etc?
I saw this question asked 7 years ago, and all it got was flannel. No useful reply at all.
Is there a solution to this time wasting problem?

May consider below workarounds:
- Use Excel Shortcuts with Preset Window Behavior
- Right-click your Excel shortcut → Properties → Shortcut tab → Set “Run” to Normal Window.
- This tells Excel to open in the last non-maximized size, which can help if you consistently close Excel in a preferred layout.
- Open Files via Excel’s “Open” Dialog
- Opening files from within Excel (rather than double-clicking in Explorer) can sometimes preserve window behavior better.
- Try the “New Window” + Save Trick
- Open your workbook → Go to View tab → Click New Window → Arrange and resize → Save.
- This sometimes helps Excel remember the layout when reopening.
