May consider below workarounds:
- Use Excel Shortcuts with Preset Window Behavior
- Right-click your Excel shortcut → Properties → Shortcut tab → Set “Run” to Normal Window.
- This tells Excel to open in the last non-maximized size, which can help if you consistently close Excel in a preferred layout.
- Open Files via Excel’s “Open” Dialog
- Opening files from within Excel (rather than double-clicking in Explorer) can sometimes preserve window behavior better.
- Try the “New Window” + Save Trick
- Open your workbook → Go to View tab → Click New Window → Arrange and resize → Save.
- This sometimes helps Excel remember the layout when reopening.
