move entire column
What I want to do is move all the rest of the cells in the corresponding column (the coloured ones), with the date shown in the row above as it moves to left? How do I do this?
I'm sure there are ways to accomplish this, although your request raises questions in my mind that need to be answered first.
- What is the new color for B6 (i.e., the cell(s) associated with whatever date is in cell B3, which is today's new date? And then again the next day. And the next.....
- There are eleven days there now; will you just be dealing with a rotating set of eleven days, or does each new day extend the number of dates in row 3 and the colored cells below?
But the most important set of questions: What is this all about in the first place? What do the colors designate? Why? What are you seeking to accomplish with this spreadsheet?
You see you've had over 50 views of your request and no replies until this one; I suspect that's because of the ambiguity of what this is all about; the suspicion that there probably is a better way to accomplish whatever it is that you're trying to accomplish. The mechanical task of moving the colors can be handled, but why pour energy into that if the real tasks can be accomplished in a different manner altogether?!
Hello and thank you for your reply,
The screenshot I shared is something basic put together to emulate a spreadsheet which is use at work, please see below picture for reference. The problem I am having is I have set the dates to move from right to left on a daily basis on a rolling pattern, year in, year out. I would like to move the rest of the information in the sheet along with the dates instead of having to do it manually? Is this possible?
