Missing CONCATENATE
Why does Excel no longer have CONCATENATE function listed under text functions in the Insert Function dialogue box? The CONCAT function is there but not the CONCATENATE. Note, you still have the ability to use the concatenate function but not choose it from the Insert Function dialogue box. I have tried the CONCAT function but noticed it does not work exactly like the CONCATENATE which I've used for years and still prefer in most cases.

Since CONCATENATE is a legacy function that has been superseded by CONCAT and TEXTJOIN, it is not listed under the Text category, but under the Compatibility category (and under All, of course)

Instead try manually typing it.

Thanks, I know that I can mannually type which how I normally input it. I was wondering if there was a reason it was not on the Insert Function dialogue box.
Note: I probably would not have even noticed it was missing, but I was teach my son Excel and I've referred him to the Insert Function dialogue box to find a function not expecting it not to be there.

Microsoft introduces new function CONCAT() instead of CONCATENATE(). So, teach your son CONCAT().
