Memory overflow when using Excel Power Query

I am now experiencing problems when running Excel 2021 and Power Query.

Desktop system is Dell XPS desk top with 12th generation i9-1200K, 16GB ram and Windows 11 Home 

Now find that opening files which are set up to extract/refresh data from Web using Power Query result in memory overflow requiring exit from Excel, and a restart of Excel once memory restored to usual level. Sometimes whole system is blocked requiring shutdown and reboot to restore system to working order.

Note: when using laptop (i5 processor, W10 and Excel 2019) with exactly same files there are no processing problems.
