Is Forecast_Linear function a GLM function please?

I have a learner arguing that FORECAST.LINEAR is a generalised linear regression (GLM) function and wondered if there is an Excel function that can decide if her data distribution is not normal or Gaussian before using FORECAST.LINEAR as a valid GLM function.  I am using Excel installed from Office 365.  Thanks.
