I need Excell Help

I am new to Excell and have been reading into conditional Formatting and need help. I have only a certain number of cells in one column that I want to apply this formatting to. I want the blank cells...

    CDW2490 

    Select the cells that you want to format conditionally.

    On the Home tab of the ribbon, select Conditional Formatting > New Rule...

    Select 'Format only cells that contain'.

    Leave the first drop-down set to 'Cell Value'.

    Select 'not equal to' from the second drop-down.

    In the box next to it, enter the formula   =""

    Click Format...

    Activate the Fill tab.

    Select a color.

    Click OK, then click OK again.
