I lost autofill

New to excel!
After typing the same word multiple times, it eventually would automatically fill the box as I was typing… something happened, I don’t know and now it does not automatically fill the cell with the common word.
I googled what to do..

when I click on ‘file’ - ‘options’ my only option is country/language change, I do not see ‘advanced options’…

Not sure if it makes a difference, but I just purchased this Acer Chromebook with Excel included. I don’t pay for the Microsoft products.

please help!!!

    Use AutoComplete when entering formulas

    Turn on AutoComplete

    1. On the Excel menu, click Preferences.

    2. Under Formulas and Lists, click AutoComplete.

    3. Select the Show AutoComplete options for functions and named ranges check box.

Decide when you want the AutoComplete menu to appear

You can always show the AutoComplete menu when you begin typing a formula, or to narrow down the number of possible entries that you see, you can display the menu only after you've typed a certain number of letters.

    1. On the Excel menu, click Preferences.

    2. Under Formulas and Lists, click AutoComplete.

    3. In the Show options after typing box, enter the number of letters that you want to type before the AutoComplete menu appears.

...you will find more informations in the upper link.

Hope I could help you with these information / links.
