I can't print Excel documents

My printer will not print my Excel documents.  It prints Word docs and any other app I'm in.

Can I get some guidance?

Thanks,

Kim

If your printer is not able to print Excel documents while it works fine with other applications, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check printer settings: Verify that the correct printer is selected in Excel. Go to the "File" tab, choose "Print," and ensure that the desired printer is selected in the printer dropdown menu.
    2. Check print range and settings: Make sure the print range is properly set in Excel. Select the desired cells or range that you want to print, then go to the "Page Layout" tab and check the print settings such as orientation, margins, and scaling. Adjust them as needed.
    3. Clear print area: If you have set a specific print area in Excel, ensure that it is not conflicting with the data you want to print. Clear the print area by going to the "Page Layout" tab, selecting "Print Area," and choosing "Clear Print Area."
    4. Update printer drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed for your printer. Outdated or incompatible drivers can sometimes cause printing issues. Visit the manufacturer's website or use their software to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
    5. Restart printer and computer: Try turning off your printer, unplugging it from power, and then plugging it back in. Also, restart your computer to clear any temporary issues that might be affecting the printing process.
    6. Test with a different document: Create a new Excel document or open a different existing document and try printing it. This will help determine if the issue is specific to the problematic document or if it's a general problem with Excel.
    7. Check printer settings and permissions: Ensure that your printer settings and permissions allow printing from Excel. You may need to consult the printer's manual or contact the printer manufacturer's support for assistance with printer-specific settings.
    8. Try printing to a PDF file: As a workaround, you can attempt to print your Excel document as a PDF file. Use the "Print" option in Excel and choose a PDF printer driver or a dedicated PDF creation software. This way, you can at least generate a digital version of your document. The text and steps were created with the help of AI.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to send more information about your digital environment, such as Excel version, file .extension, operating system, storage medium, etc. The file itself (without sensitive data) and any error messages would also help to provide you with an accurate solution proposal.

    Hope this will help you.

What exactly happens? You see something in print preview but that doesn't go on printer; you don't see the printer; you have nothing in print preview; is that for any file or for some specific one.

If the latest you could try to clean print areas

      Hello Sergei,

What happens is, when trying to print any Excel doc,  I get a message that says, "File could not be printed due to an error on Ricoh IM 350 on e00."   Then I have to click on "OK" or "HELP".  I click OK.  There is nothing wrong with the printer because I can print emails, Word docs, from the web, etc.  just not anything from Excel.  I just realized it is now doing this for PUBLISHER docs too.

I am looking at my document in the print preview and when I click PRINT, it gives me the error message above.
