How to set Range in X-Axis

I Have an assignment do in Biology Lab and I haven't used excel in years. I basically Have the chart done except for the fact that my x axis should only range from 12-26 (mm) range. When I right click the chart, select data, and set the range from 12 - 26 it literally only inputs data point 12 - 26 in the x-axis when I have 106 data entries. How do I get excel to range all 106 data entries from 12-26 mm because that the data that's in each 106 entries (the millimeters of various bird beaks ranging from 12mm to 26mm). Please help...

attached is a sample of my chart. You will see how the millimeter range should be on the bottom, not 1-106 which is simply just the number of entries. I need all those entries categorized by range of millimeters.

Cheers!!!

  • Hey Jason-

Hope you're doing well.  Maybe try following these steps:

    1. Select Data

    2. Switch Row/Column

However, I think you may be asking for a histogram.  What version of Excel are you using?  Not quite sure how your data is set up but I'm attaching an example file for further reference.
