How to CONVERT Numbers to Words with Built-in Excel Formula?

I had seen this question quite often, from colleagues, Q&A forums etc, but while there were many UDF solutions, there wasn't any solution with Built-In Formula (at least not to my knowledge).

You lucked out, as I had already written this Formula couple of years ago.

Here is the formula. I have also uploaded the file with formula.

It only has one limitation, It cannot convert more than number $999,999,999,999.00 "Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Billion Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Million Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Dollars and Zero Cent"

But I think it will do the job for you.

Hi, I modified the formula, because the formula length became too long, so I had to use a helper cell in column c for splitting the formula into half and then use C1 into the B1 formula as a reference.

Hai Jamil.
Finally, I found the right formula to describe the figure in two decimal points in a word.
May you help me to modified this formula by removing the word "dollar" in this formula?

It's easy to replace Dollars and Dollar with Taka, and Cents and Cent with Paisa, and to add Only. But the formula is so complicated that I don't see how to change from millions and billions to Lac and Crore, sorry.

I do have VBA code for that, but you mention that you don't want VBA.

Hi All,

I need a formula for numbers to words without a VBA code. My currency is Taka instead of Dollars and after the decimal, it's called Paisa instead of Cent. Also require the word Only, in the last.
Here is the sample for a better understanding
1 = One Taka Only
10 = Ten Taka Only
10.50 = Ten Taka Fifty Paisa Only
100 = One Hundred Taka Only
1000 = One Thousand Taka Only
10000 = Ten Thousand Taka Only
100000 = One Lac Taka Only (We called Lac for one hundred thousand)
1000000 = Ten Lac Taka Only
10000000 = One Crore Taka Only

Please help me with this formula if anyone can able to do so.

I cannot reproduce the TwentY, it's nowhere in the formula. But you want the decimal part to be displayed as a fraction anyway.

One thousand Two hundred Thirty-four and 56/100
with No dollars, No cents.
2. Another issue from the formula,
Example: $ 20.25, it is written as Twenty Dollars and TwentY-five Cents.
==>Capital Y is used at TwentY-five Cents. ONLY 'twenty' has problem for Cents.

1) For example, 1234.56, my result should be = One Thousand Two Hundred Thirty Four and Cents Fifty Six Only.
2) I got the word "dollar" based on the formula given earlier. I need a formula without this word.
