How do I use date format in Excel, automatically ??

Good day !

Please help me how to fix my Excel...

By the way,

As I know, Excel is already pre-programmed.

(ex. If I add "20/01/16" or "20-01-16", It will be changed automatically to "20(yy). 01(mm). 16(dd).)

But in my Excel, It doesn't work...

I mean that cell is recognized "Text" type in my Excel, not "Number".

Please let me know how to fix it..

Do I need an amendment in system option??

    Hi Sangwon_seo

Most likely a regional or language setting. In which language is your excel and where are you located?

Take a look at attached file. Does it show all days of January 2020?

  • Hello,

To use the date format yyyy/mm/dd.
    1. Type a date in any cell
    2. Press CTRL + 1
    3. Select Custom.
    4. Clear "General" and type in yyyy/mm/dd
    5. Click OK

This will return for example 2020/01/14 (yyyy/mm/dd)

      Good day Sir !

      Thanks for your reply.

I did it. But it doesn't work.

Do you know other options ??

As I guess, I need to change some system options...

Hello, you need to Change your regional setting from your laptop or computer:
        1. Type in Control Panel
        2. Select Change clock, time and date format under Regional settings
        3. Select additional settings
        4. Locate the date tab and change appropriately
