Hotel room avail showing in monthly calendar
I need some help.
I need to build a spreadsheet that shows I have 20 hotel rooms available each day from April 16th 2023 to April 30th 2024 (10 rooms for group A and 10 rooms from group B). I would like for excel to tell me how many hotel rooms are remaining each day after I enter an employee name and check in and check out dates. How do I get started in this?
For example, Let’s say I add Joe Smith arriving 4/25/2023-5/1/2023 from group A and Santa clause arriving 4/25-4/30 from group b .How can I Make the excel sheet show that I used 1 room out of the 20 rooms during that time frame after enter their name, group and check in and check out date.

See the attached simple demo. It uses COUNTIFS.

Thank you so much. Do you know if there is away for excel to show the information in a calendar? for example, I would like the month of May 2023 listed and it shows us the total number of rooms available after we put in the check in/check out date. I am brand new to excel and trying to learn.In the attached workbook, I used a template from Microsoft for a monthly calendar and modified it to display the number of available rooms. You can select a different month from the month drop down.
