Format a cell using conditional formating, based on another cell format

Hi,

I wonder if it is possible in conditional formating to copy a format of another cell?

For example in one sheet I have a data validation (chosing a name for instance), and in another sheet I have a list of possible names. If I would change a cell colour in a list, after choosing a name in first sheet it would have the same color.

Is it doable?

Thank You!

Copy conditional formatting in Excel to another cell.

If you want to apply conditional formatting to another cell, do the following:

Right-click in the cell whose conditional formatting

you want to copy and select the "Copy" context command.

Then right-click in the target cell and click "Paste Special".

In the following dialog of the same name,

select the option »All merging conditional formats«

    and confirm with »OK«.
