Files Becoming Corrupted
I have an intricate Excel file (macros, linked pictures) that I use regularly and create various offspring as needed. Of late, I would work in the file, save it and then not be able to open it again ...
You can try the following beforehand

Install the latest update
Repair Office programs
Start Office applications in safe mode
Identify possible problems with the add-in
Check if the file was created by a third party

I recommend inserting the file (without sensitive data) to be able to see where the error could be and how or if it can be corrected.
