Extraire points communs entre deux cellules

Bonjour,

Je suis à la recherche d'une formule me permettant d'extraire uniquement la partie commune de deux cellules.

Exemple 1:
Cellule A contient "DE_2020XL"
Cellule B contient "2020XV"
>> Résultat de la formule = "2020X"

Exemple 2:
Cellule A contient "XXXXXXXX2020FKFLDKDL
Cellule B contient " XX2020b"
>> Résultat de la formule = "2020"

Merci par avance pour votre aide, cela fait plusieurs heures que je cherche sans succès.

Bonne journée à toutes et tous,
Cordialement,
martinot96

  • Hi martinot96,

One solution that pop-up in my mind is using FLASH FILL, that might do the job for you.

as the length is not fixed, could you please share some more data to in Excel Workbook to understand the pattern of your data or do you have master list of all the products ?

      Hey ExcelExciting,

Thanks a lot for your help.
I do not have a specific list of all the products, however what I would need is a formula able to detect when two cells include the same data basically.
So I could have one list of 2000 rows let's say, with plenty of different codes, and another list of 10 000 rows, and I'd like to do a kind of Vlookup but at the same time identifying the same patterns in the data.

My objective is to reconciliate the data from one list to another and identify which cell matches with another cell even though there are some differences.
It it clear to you ? 🙂

Thanks for your support, it's highly appreciated.
