Excel
Hello All,
I am trying to figure out how to edit a cell that has a text box that pops up when you select a particular cell. Can someone please help me?
Thank you,
Chad

(Your question is a bit ambiguous, albeit accompanied by the image.)
Assuming that the cell you want to edit is the cell that currently contains 9.80%, that text box is telling you to go ahead and enter a different tax rate, if applicable.
Have you tried doing so and been prevented? Or have you not yet tried?
If it's not letting you edit the cell, then the message itself seems out of order. This is presumably a spreadsheet that you got from someone or some place, not a spreadsheet you created. Can you fill us in a bit more on the source, what it is you're trying to accomplish with the spreadsheet?
- keao46Copper ContributorMy apologies. Yes, I am trying to edit a spreadsheet that I got from Excel. Is there a way to edit the little box that says "Enter Tax rate in this cell"?

There's no way somebody else can answer that. There should be; after all, that's what you're being prompted to do. But we don't have the sheet in front of us. That is why I asked you: Have you tried? What happens?
When you say you "got from Excel" what does that mean? Is it one of the templates that Excel offers on this larger website? Which template?
NOW, it occurs to me that it's possible that the sheet is "protected" and if so, if it's been protected without a password, then you can go to the menu across the top, select "Tools", go down to the word "Protection" and try to "unprotect"
IF it's been protected with a password, and IF it doesn't allow you to edit that field, despite the prompt, then it's just another example of a poorly thought out template. Wouldn't be the first.
