Excel

I have a spreadsheet that tracks driving times. One column is daytime and another column is nighttime. When I total each column the totals are correct. When I add the results to get a grand total I get a lesser amount.

Day timeNight time Time totals
16:109:45 1:55

What formula do I use to get the totals to equal 25:55?

  • actually I bet all you need to do is change the FORMAT of the cell from h:mm to [h]:mm to tell excel to show hours > 24 as hours. Go into Format Cells, select number, select custom, Type [h]:mm or under the Format Cells sub-window you can select the Time category and select the time that says: 37:30:55 but as you can see that option will show the seconds
