Excel Vlookup and Datasource
Hi,
We are currently using an Excel as a datasource, and using vlookup to call the items.
*for instance, we will input item code, and it will vlookup to bring item details to the excel sheet.
I heard that using an excel as a datasource is not recommended.
So I looked into other type of datasource like dataverse, sharepoint list, and etc.
Problem:
- I don't know if excel vlookup can call the item details if using other datasource.
*or alternative ways for vlookup.
Thank you for your time in an advance.

Since you tagged your question with Office365, you may scrap VLOOKUP to begin with and start using XLOOKUP.
An Excel workbook can be a perfect data source for many things. What exactly do you have in mind?
- Sunbed1060Copper ContributorI want to add photos of items in the data source.
But with excel - the file will become too big if I start adding photos.
So thats why I was trying to look for alternative data source.- Riny_van_EekelenPlatinum Contributor
Sunbed1060 Understood, but than I'll leave it to someone else as I don't usually work with pictures in Excel.
