Since you tagged your question with Office365, you may scrap VLOOKUP to begin with and start using XLOOKUP.
An Excel workbook can be a perfect data source for many things. What exactly do you have in mind?

I want to add photos of items in the data source.
But with excel - the file will become too big if I start adding photos.
So thats why I was trying to look for alternative data source.

Sunbed1060 Understood, but than I'll leave it to someone else as I don't usually work with pictures in Excel.
