Excel trying to copy without formula.

Hello,

I have just exported a spreadsheet from yardi to excel and need to simply sort the columns so that I can navigate looking at the names alphabetically.  When I export the document, I save a copy so that in theory I can work on a new workbook but this is not working.  Any suggestions?
