Excel Tables

Hello,

I am creating a table for a tracking sheet, and I need to create a table where as soon as I start typing in the last formatted row of the table, another row automatically formats underneath the last row, so that the recipients of my tracking sheet would understand that they can continue the table. I don't want the recipients manually adding rows, and I know if you format a table, you can automatically add rows if you type in an empty cell under the table. however, I want a row to format when i start typing in the last formatted row.

Is there a way to do this?

Thank you!!

  • you can try lock-unlock cells and protect the sheet. however this will prevent anybody to enter data to locked cells unless they know the password. To do this:

Select the range you want people to be able to modify the data. right click and select Properties. Than from the new window go to protection tab and unclick "Locked" checkbox.

Than close this window by pressing OK. and select "Protect Sheet" option in Review tab. You can create a password and prevent anybody to enter more data to the table.
