Excel Formula help!!!!
Hi there, I am pretty "okay" at excel but I do not know much about some of the more in-depth formulas and such. If anyone could help me accomplish what I am trying to do it would be so greatly appreciated!
I am setting up a sheet for my father in laws poultry auction. One sheet is his journal entry of all the consignors at his auctions and what lot#'s they have brought in to sell.
Sheet 2 (both in the same workbook) it the ticket slips for what the buyers at the auction have bid on and won.
On Sheet 1 the information goes like the following: There is a formula in the commison column to take 20% from the Total Sale Column and then Total Owed to Seller is Total sale - Commision
| Seller's Name | Lot #'s | Total Sale | Commision | Total Owed to Seller |
| John Doe | 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 | $0.00 | $0.00 | |
| Jane Doe | 9-111-75-62 | $0.00 | $0.00 | |
| Jack Jill | 18-44-36-92 | $0.00 | $0.00 | |
| Jill Jack | 87-1001-25 | $0.00 | $0.00 | |
| $0.00 | $0.00 |
So the lot #'s are what I need to see if I can link up the other sheet which looks like this : (There is a drop down list for the type of animal in the "Items" Column and there is a formula in the totals column taking Quantity x Cost = Total.
| Lot # | Item | Buyer Number | Quantity | Cost | Total |
| 87 | Chicks | 27 | 1 | $3.50 | $3.50 |
| 1001 | Hens & Family | 27 | 1 | $15.00 | $15.00 |
| 25 | Guinea | 27 | 5 | $2.00 | $10.00 |
| 92 | Bunny | 27 | 6 | $6.00 | $36.00 |
| 18 | Bunny | 27 | 5 | $6.00 | $30.00 |
| 44 | Rooster | 27 | 4 | $4.50 | $18.00 |
| 36 | Peacock | 27 | 8 | $50.00 | $400.00 |
| 8 | Chickens | 27 | 2 | $3.50 | $7.00 |
| 2 | Eggs | 27 | 2 | $2.00 | $4.00 |
| 7 | Hens | 27 | 8 | $4.00 | $32.00 |
| 1 | Banty | 27 | 16 | $2.50 | $40.00 |
| 3 | Banty | 27 | 25 | $2.50 | $62.50 |
| 6 | Banty | 27 | 18 | $2.50 | $45.00 |
| 5 | Bunny | 27 | 5 | $8.00 | $40.00 |
| 4 | Rabbit & Family | 27 | 3 | $26.00 | $78.00 |
| $0.00 | |||||
| $0.00 | |||||
| $0.00 | |||||
| $0.00 |
What I need to do it to get the information for Each individual lot # on sheet to somehow add in the totals on the first sheet. I do not know if this is possible how I have the sheets set up at the moment. Can anyone help?
ManaMana4469 Please see attached sheet. you really did good with your sheet.
I just added one more column on ticket slips tab. So you just need to add sellers name on that sheet.
I added the formula in summary column for total sales. Hope this helps.
Thanks
