Excel 365 cut and paste won't allow for relative referencing

Hi,

In excel 365, when I copy an paste cells without fixed/absolute references (no $$ on any cells), they are pasted using relative referencing.

However, when I *CUT* and paste these cells, absolute refencing are used, even though there are no $$ on any cells. I would like to be able to CUT and PASTE while maintaining relative cell referencing, as things used to be.

Regards.

    Hi,

You can select "Paste Formulas" in the paste options when you want to cut and paste your data. This will allow relative referencing.

Also, if you frequently need to cut and paste cells with relative referencing, you can customize the Paste Options to make "Paste Formulas" the default option.

    Best Regards.

This is always the case. In fact I used to use this as a trick to 'move' my relative references by copy to another area, cut and paste the offset I wanted and then copy it back. But now with dynamic arrays I don't seem to need that as there is only 1 formula for everything.
