Drag Down
Rather than using the drag down method, given that it looks like you're doing this next to fully occupied columns of other info... may I suggest that you
- go to the bottom of the adjacent column (in my Mac that's a combination of Command-Down)
- then go to the column where you want to populate with the month
- enter an "x" (or any other character of your choosing)
- press Command-Up to get to the top
- press Command-C (if a Mac, or Ctrl-C) to copy the month (or whatever)
- press Shift-Command-Down to highlight the entire range
- press Command-V (or Ctrl-V) to paste
- Sigh a sigh of relief. All done.
Hi mathetes -
Thank you so much for the step by step! I actually have a Windows but can figure this out accordingly. I finished with this report a more manual way, but next time will try this. Appreciate your help 🙂

As variant of the same approach, type in name box entire range
Enter (it will be selected)
Ctrl+D (it will be filled)

Ctrl+Up/Down Arrow: Move to the top or bottom cell in the column
I clipped that from this page, which has a whole host of keyboard shortcuts for using Excel in your Windows computer.
