Data Validation
I created a drop down using Data Validation and need to know if there is a limit to the list items? IF so, is ther a work around? I need to have

If you mean text length for the items, when 254 characters.

Not the Excel cell is limited, only the input field for the list.Solution:

You write the list one below the other in a free area, e.g. in from J28 down to J38.
Without a comma.
In the data validity you then state as "source"
= $ J $ 28: $ J $ 38Thx

As of Excel 2007, this limit has been increased and is now 32,767 characters per cell.
*Theoretically, if you also save old files before Excel 2007 with "Save As" under a new file name and select "Excel workbook (* .xlsx)" as the format, this should also expand to 32,767 .
