CSV to Colums
Hi, I hope I'm at the right place for this but I am having trouble with importing CSVs.
Here are the details: - separator: ,
- Text indicator: "
Everything goes fine until the Text indicator appears at the beginning of a line of the CSV. Excel seems to delete them then with the consequence the colums are wronly separated.
I'll give 2 screenshots here aswell (a picture says it easier). The first is the CSV opened with Notepad (ASCII), the second is what Excel makes of it. The problem is in the red circle. Strange thing is that the text indicator stays when used further in the same line...
Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Jan Borger,
I can't tell you what's going wrong with the import assistant, but I can make you the suggestion to use PowerQuery for importing the CSV-file. You have so much more possibilities in PowerQuery.
In an English version of Excel 2016, you can find PowerQuery in the Data Tab and Get & Transform section. Please see the screenshot. Then choose your CSV-file and you get a preview dialogue where you can set some parameters. If you click on the Edit button, you'll reach the PowerQuery Editor with more options.
Best,
Mourad

Can you perhaps upload a sample csv and a sample workbook of the same CSV as you would need it to look after importing?

Sure. The example as it should be is made with Calc (openoffice), The problem is visible on the sixth row of every file.
Thanks giving it a try!
