Correct formula for deduction of %

Hi,   I am using a spreadsheet for a basic payroll for sub contractors and within this i am trying to deduct 20% from a cell value. Each time it will allow the multiplication of 20% but not the dedu...

That's

=A1 - A1*20%
or
=A1*(1-20%)
or
=0.8*A1
