Copying Conditional Formatting

Hi,
How do you copy the conditional formatting from 1 cell, down the column and changing the rule.

Example.
Cells A1- A54 have the rule which changes week on week.
Cell B1 - B54 have result, with the conditional formatting of <Red >Green -Yellow.
I need to copy the conditional format down Column B.
Example - If B1 is < than A1 it's Green

When I do the generic Copy and Paste, or Format Painter, the rule stays aligned to Cell A1 instead of moving to A2, A3, A4 etc.

How can I copy the format without doing each cell individually?

Make sure that the rule refers to A1 or $A1, not to $A$1. A $ before the row number 1 "fixes" that row number, so that it won't change for the cells below.

HansVogelaar Thanks for this but when I copy the cell down Column B it's still looking at Cell A1 as the rule.

I need it to flow like the below.

      • If B1 is < than A1 turn Green
      • If B2 is < than A2 turn Green
      • If B3 is < than A3 turn Green
      • And so on.....

But when copied, it's staying as A1 for all of Column B.

Could you attach a small sample workbook demonstrating the problem (without sensitive data), or if that is not possible, make it available through OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or similar?
