Changing True/False Result in a linked checkbox cell - Excel 2013
angiekish121 Not sure that what you ask for makes sense. A check box is either ticked (on), unticked (off) or mixed. Hence, TRUE (=1), FALSE (=0) or #N/A (mixed). Overwriting the linked cell with anything other than TRUE, FALSE, #N/A, 1 or 0 will untick the box.
So, what exactly is it that you want to achieve? Please give and example.
Riny_van_Eekelen I want to change the word 'True' to say something else, and be able to edit the cell (Ex. Associate ________________ was late on ________, he/she was scheduled at ______ and didn't arrive until ________)

angiekish121 If I understand correctly, you would want a checkbox for every (or perhaps only one) gap in your sentence. Correct?
If a box is checked, the linked cell becomes TRUE. You can hide it and still create a formula like:
="Hello, you were"&IF(B6, " 5 minutes late", " not late").... where B6 would be the linked cell. If TRUE, it will say "Hello, you were 5 minutes late", otherwise it will say "Hello, you were not late". Is this anywhere near to what you had in mind?

Riny_van_Eekelen Attached is what I am working on. (I highlighted the spot with the checkbox i am trying to edit)

Riny_van_Eekelen I think only 1 gap in my sentence. When the box is checked, I want it to read with the _______ so that the manager can fill in the time/date. (I don't think a formula will let me edit the ______, but I could be wrong)

angiekish121 So, the checkbox will indicate a certain question/status and then the manager will have to input a date and time. Why bother with a checkbox? There could be cell in your sheet that gets filled with the time and date if needed. And then your formula could be if that <cell> is not empty, then display a text.
Otherwise, can you upload an example of the file you are working with? Difficult to imagine otherwise what you want to achieve. Sorry!
