Can't merge text cells

Hi, For work I need to enter an excel sheet into our database of products. The original Excel sheet has two columns that I need to merge together. I have used every option I have found on the intern...

I tried =A1&B1 and even =A1&""&B1, but every time the second column colours red, so doesn't take the formula (have no idea why).

    I opened your excel sheet, exactly what I had tried several times. Then I opened my sheet again and tried three times, third time all of a sudden it decides to work... (sometimes I think my computer hates me).
