Can I show elapsed time in minutes?

I have been trying for days to solve this problem but have now given up. Hope someone out there can help. I have start times and end times using 24 hour clock and require the elapsed time to show as...

If you use your start/finish time as hh:mm, take the difference and apply (Ctrl+1) custom [mm] format
