breaking apart books

I've currently made a master book, now I'm trying to break it down into other books with out having to copy and paste. The curve ball to this is that I don't want what I input into my master book to go to all of my books, I want it to basically sort its self.

So in my master book I have it alphabetized by names and with their names I have the shift they are in, I want my other books to be by the shift that person is in,

To make a picture in your head, master book (book1) has shifts 1-5 I now want book2 to be shift 1, book3 to be shift 2, book4 to be shift 3, and so on.
