Best method for creating Username & Password list in Excel?

Hi,

I created an Excel sheet that includes a list of Username & Passwords.

What is tyhe best way to format them so that I can filter them alphabetically and the username to passwords still match up? Presently, when I filter one column alphabetically the next(password comumn) does not match up with it's username. How do I group the two cells (for a username and password) to stick together when I filter them?

Also, is there a better way of creating headers when I make custom lists like this? Would that help with the filtering? Right now I just skipped a row at the top of the spread sheet and filled that with my "headers" then began enteruing data in the cells below. Is there a method of creating headers that are better built into the spreadsheet w/o taking up the first row, and that look more formatted rather than just data in the cell like the rest of my information?

Thanks for your help, muh appreciated!

Formatting data as a table is the easiest way I know of to filter and keep rows together.

Whenever you sort data, you should select all of your columns of data rather than just one - data on any row will stay together that when when you sort. Make sure that you don't have extra columns of blanks between your data, and Excel should warn you that you are attempting to sort part of a data range if you have only selected one column prior to sorting.

As for the formatted data, your headers should go into row 1, but you can also select your data set and convert it to a data table, using Insert / Table.  That will change how your formulas look and how your data entry causes the sheet to respond, but it will make your data look like related information.
