    Step 1: Select Your Data

    1. Highlight the range of cells that contain the data you want to graph. Make sure to include the column headers.

    Step 2: Go to the Insert Tab

    1. Click on the Insert tab at the top of the Excel window.

    Step 3: Choose Your Chart Type

    1. Charts Group: Within the Insert tab, you'll see a group labeled "Charts." Here are the main types of charts you can choose from:
      • Column or Bar Chart: Great for comparing values across categories.
      • Line Chart: Ideal for showing trends over time.
      • Pie Chart: Useful for showing proportions of a whole.
      • Area Chart: Shows the magnitude of values over time.
      • Scatter Chart: Good for showing relationships between two sets of data.
    2. Click on the chart type that best represents your data. If you're unsure, you can select Recommended Charts to see options based on your data.

    Step 4: Customize Your Chart

    1. Chart Tools: Once the chart is inserted, you can customize it using the Chart Tools that appear in the ribbon. You'll see two new tabs:
      • Design Tab: Here, you can change the chart style, layout, and switch row/column data.
      • Format Tab: Use this tab to customize the appearance of your chart, including colors, shapes, and text styles.

    Step 5: Insert the Chart

    1. After selecting and customizing your chart, Excel will insert it into your worksheet. You can move it around by clicking and dragging the chart to your desired location.
