_Xlfn and 365

I have an older xl file from a machine that had a 365 license and am still getting the _xlfn prefix for IFS functions even though i have installed excel with a 365 license on my new machine.

details:

  1. new machine had "non 365 excel" on it
  2. i saw the _xlfn prefix and NAME errors in the sheet
  3. i found articles regarding the need for the 365 license
  4. i logged into 365 and downloaded the 365 office suite successfully
  5. my "about excel" dialog now shows the 365 license
  6. I've opened previously working files (from email that I'd never opened before) that have the IFS function in them, but still get the _xlfn and NAME errors

Perhaps the machine you are opening the file on is on a slower update track? Does the IFS function appear in the intellisense when you try to type it in a cell?

it does not...my version says 16.17 (180909) and my license says office 365

And which build number? Mine is Version 1809 (Build 10827.20138), which does noet include IFS.
