D365 Finance/Finance Premium mix&match for purchasing minimum?

Hi, can someone confirm if it's obligatory to meet the purchasing minimum requirements for both Finance and Finance Premium, i.e. if we purchase 20 regular Finance licenses, can we purchase only 5 Finance Premium or does it have to be the minimum 10? I've found resources online that say these 2 SKUs can be mixed & matched, but I can't seem to find definitive confirmation of this in the D365 Licensing Guide or any of MSFT resources.

Thanks!

Minimum purchase requirements are always enforced on subscription level. Finance Premium having a 10 seat minimum, means that regardless if the customer already has other base D365 subscriptions active, for the Finance Premium subscription a 10 seat minimum is still applicable. This is also enforced in Partner Center when trying to order less than 10 seats Finance Premium.

Also note that you can't use both Finance and Finance Premium in the same environment. You can allow Finance Premium users in the normal Finance environment. But the normal Finance users are not allowed to access a Finance Premium environment. So both users need to work in separate environments/databases.

Check the Product Terms for guidance on both these rules: Microsoft Product Terms

Interested to see the sources saying that mix&match is possible, as that's 100% not the case. MSFT even changed this for EA customers, as previously this was possible in EA. But little over 2 years ago they also stopped making it possible to mix&match in EA.
