Anybody knows what D365 BC - Embedded license is?

MartijnElfers this is what I heard back from the team:
- If you are an indirect reseller we recommend going to your Indirect Provider for licensing questions.
- If this is a question around ISV Cloud embed you can find information here: Microsoft Power Platform Partner Hub
-
If this customer bought these licenses from an ISV as part of an industry solution that ISV is part of ISV Cloud Embed which gives them access to SKUs that TDSynnex wouldn't see. The customer cannot just "add" new products to those embed licenses working with TDSynnex because TDSynnex is not an ISV in this program.
I am just relaying what was shared with me, so if this doesn't make sense, let me know. This is not my area of expertise. 🙂
MartijnElfers I dealt with embedded licensing back in Dynamics NAV days. It's an old way of doing licensing and I thought it was gone for good. It's when you had to buy NAV and an ISV add-on together, in a bundle. There was no way to simply buy the add-on and add it to an existing NAV licence. You had to get NAV with the embedded add-on from the ISV provider. I only ever came across one ISV provider doing this. I never liked this model because you were forced to buy everything from the ISV provider. If a customer really needed that specific add-on, and they already had NAV, they had to cancel their NAV licence and buy a new NAV licence + add-on from the ISV provider. If this model is still alive, then it looks like your customer has to go back to the original provider for additional licensing.
