Table tennis tournament

I want to organize a table tennis tournament. With ChatGPT I have made the following Excel document.

 

There will be 8 groups of 4 players. The top two players of the groups will advance to the next round, after which a knockout round will follow.

 

I want to have an Excel file, in which I can fill in the scores of the sets. By filling in the scores, the ranking in a group will automatically be changed. After that, the Excel file should automatically indicate the qualified players in the knockout round after three matches per group.

When I fill in the scores in the knockout, the Excel file should automatically name the winner for the next round.

 

Problems:

1)       With the Excel document I have some problems with ranking the players. There is no ranking.

2)       In the groups the numbers 2 and 3 are going through. Not number 1 and 2.

3)       There is no graphical picture of the knockout tournament.

 

Hopefully somebody can help me. If there is already this kind of Excel file on the internet please refer it to me.

      I didn't see any change in the file, that I have uploaded. But thanks for uploading the file. I tried a couple of times to find the attachment, but I didn't see it.

      I added a few things in this file.

      I added a "Teams" tab so insted of "Team 1" you can actually give each team a name (if you want)

      I updated all of the formulas to find the correct name based on the row instead of specifically specifying "Team 1" in the formula.

      I fixed the RANK formuals

      I reformatted the layout so it was 'cleaner' in my opinion

      I added a column for final group rank (I used SORTBY formula if that doesn't work for you let me know)

      I updated the format on the playoff tab to show the different stages better

      I updated the initial list of playoff teams to point to 1st and 2nd place teams
