Windows Server vNext cannot be activated
Error Code 0xC004F012 when trying to activate WS vNext Datacenter with Key 2KNJJ-33Y9H-2GXGX-KMQWH-G6H67. vbscript is removed, implying the future removal of this component from the OS. It appears that Windows Activation relies on vbscript. I would wish for a native PowerShell support / module instead of vbscript. Is this something that is on the roadmap?Solved168Views0likes4CommentsWindows NVMe-oF Initiator
Hi everyone, I am trying to test the new Windows NVMe-oF Initiator within build 29550.1000 but I am not able to configure an I/O Subsystem Port, still getting the message " A Host Gateway with the specified identifier was not found for the Initiator Adapter." (see screenshot). Any idea what I am doing wrong?SolvedpkovarMar 16, 2026Tin Contributor169Views0likes2CommentsAccount blocked downloading any Insider ISO
Same basic message as the Google Fiber user, however, I know what caused my account to be blocked. I did not approve a Firewall request for Webview2 while using Server 2022 and Duck Browser (you know which one as I am not approving of nor recommending a non-MSFT issued browser here) to Download the ISO for Vnext on the Server Insider's Download page. I am still able to log into the page, select a build, choose my language, and I get the error after clicking Confirm. It also happened in Edge and on my cell phone using Cellular and it's proprietary browser. I installed 26534, and though it did allow me to attach my insider id to it, it would not dl a newer build, nor any Insider build for Windows 11 either. The page simply says to contact Microsoft support if you feel you got this in error. Of course, that would not accomplish anything except confuse some MSFT contacted Tech support and possibly incur a fee for me. You have my account info. Any help clearing it would be appreciated.SolvedOLDMAN2018Feb 16, 2026Brass Contributor387Views3likes3CommentsGoogle fiber being blocked??
I’m on Google fiber and can't download the newest ISO. I get a msg that says some block of IPs is being blocked because they are not who they say they are. Likewise, I have no anonymizer running and my ip is my own on google fiber. error msg; message code 715-123130 and b64dd3c8-ed16-4d46-87ac-a871691f1c41.SolvedChronoVoreFeb 12, 2026Brass Contributor1.2KViews5likes10CommentsRAM Memory Leak Issue
Good morning. I am experiencing issues with an updated installation of Windows Server 2016. The task manager reports 8.1GB of memory used (which normally tends to grow indefinitely), and I can't figure out what is using this memory. The growth is about 1GB per day. However, no processes appear that justify the 8GB of RAM used. Even using RAMMAP, I can't find anything significant... On the server, additionally, we have SentinelOne as antivirus and Apache-Tomcat. Thank you for your help.Solvedandrea_rinaldiFeb 07, 2025Copper Contributor367Views0likes2CommentsISSUE: Windows Server 2025 - OneDrive Shell Folder does not work in File Explorer
Dear Windows Server Insider team, I am seeing this issue for a longer time now and hoped it would be resolved. Will be repeating my tests with 26311 soon and updating this thread by then. I consider this issue of low to medium importance. If this goes live it can harm especially Windows Server based VDI which usually using OneDrive and FSLogix Containers. This one is just tested in easy complexity with OneDrive for Home Use, but I expect it can also affect OneDrive for Business. Overall, I would rate this an UX limitation with an available workaround for advanced users. Thanks! https://aka.ms/AAt80nrSolved1.3KViews1like5CommentsUnable to change expired password
I am using Server Next Preview Build 26257. It is a domain controller. I only have the one AD account which I created to do the evaluation. The account password expired today. When I attempt to change it at login, I enter the new password twice as required and hit Enter, but it sends me back and says "The password for this account has expired" with an OK button. If I try again I get the same result. If I purposely type a mismatch for the new PW it does acknowledge that. Has anyone else seen this? I can't think of a workaround.SolvedCSullivan55Aug 02, 2024Tin Contributor3.7KViews1like11CommentsWindows Server 2025 Public Preview - Windows Update issue
Hi there, Is Windows Update expected to work with the Windows Server 2025 Public Preview from Microsoft's Evaluation Center? I deployed the 26100.1.240331-1435.ge_release_SERVER_EVAL_x64FRE_en-us.iso image but can't update through Windows Update. Similarly, the Windows Security app and Microsoft Edge browser won't update. I'm inquiring because post-installation, the Microsoft Evaluation Center advises updating Windows via Windows Updates. Since the insider builds from 25398 to the latest 26227 all have the same bug where the domain controller on the builds will show the network category as Public instead of DomainAuthenticated and the only way to fix it is to disable and re-enable the NIC after each reboot. There has been a few bug reports submitted in the feedback hub and in this community many months ago. It would be at least be nice to be acknowledged.SolvedCWooldridgeMay 30, 2024Tin Contributor7.2KViews3likes39Comments
