  • Your Mac is running VMware Fusion on Apple silicon, and the VM reaches UEFI but reports “No compatible bootloader found” for the virtual SATA CD-ROM. The ISO is attached, but its boot code does not match the VM’s Arm64 architecture; released Windows Server 2025 media requires an x64-compatible processor. Startup commands will not convert or repair that media. In Fusion, confirm the guest type is an Arm Windows VM and the mounted image is explicitly labeled Arm64, then reconnect the CD/DVD and place it first in the boot order. For a Microsoft-supported local Arm guest, use the Windows 11 Arm64 ISO. If you specifically need Windows Server, run the released x64 image on x64 hardware or in an x64 cloud VM. Server Insider builds are previews, so use one only when Microsoft’s current download page explicitly offers an Arm64 Server image, and keep it out of production.
