Welcome to the Windows Server Developer Community!
I want to extend a warm welcome to all the developers and application administrators that have been joining the community, this is an exciting time for me and hopefully for all of you as well. I am proud to have contributed to each release of Windows Server since 2003 but I am especially proud to be part of the team as we go from shipping every 2-3 year with previews every six months to shipping fully supported releases every six months and insider builds twice a month. I’m also honored to have the job of making Windows Server the operating system developers are excited to build software for. My career in software started largly by accident – I needed a job and the Windows team needed someone to test firewire on Windows XP, while I loved computers when I started it was a job to pay my bills while I got a business degree. Three months later I was learning how to debug and write Windows drivers and actually writing bug fixes that shipped in Windows. Having that global impact hooked me on software development and I started taking CS classes (even becoming a “Microsoft Certified Application Developer for Visual Studio .NET”) and dropped out of business school (much to my parent’s chagrin). I’m excited about the opportunities we have in front of us and I love that we get to work with a community to bring these opportunities to life. -Taylor5.9KViews6likes2CommentsWindows DNS, DHCP server

Hi, I'm pretty sure my co-workers and me found a bug that manifests in a kernel memory leak, more specifically leaking "process" objects (those counted by the performance counter "\Objects\Processes"). For Visual Studio I've had very good experiences reporting bugs via the Visual Studio Community but this clearly isn't Visual Studio related so I didn't want to post it there. I don't want to open a paid support case since we don't really require a fix (we have to find a workaround for our product anyway since a lot of Windows Server versions are affected and we cannot restrict our product to fully patched OS versions). I just want to report it so MS can fix it. Can you please point me to the right channel via which I can submit a bug report against Windows Server? I have a time format that excel can not understand because there is no space between the time and (am/pm) ie: (9:31AM) without a space. This prevents excel from running its normal equations on this format as the default format should be like this ( 9:31 AM). The format is an output of an app that I am supposed to export on excel and run my calculations, but because the app gives this format I can not deal with it. Do you have any solution or recommendations for this case ?mohammed_esmailJan 22, 2020Copper Contributor993Views2likes0CommentsQuestions on LDAP Channel Binding.
According to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4520412/2020-ldap-channel-binding-and-ldap-signing-requirement-for-windows, LDAP Channel Binding will become active from March 2020 by default. Our current product does not support channel binding and I tried to support it. I found that the LDAP search API JNDI, which we are using now, is based on SASL. But the Active Directory only supports 4 kinds of SASL authentication mechanisms, GSS_SPNEGO, GSSAPI, EXTERNAL and DIGEST-MD5. It seems that none of them supports channel binding. Here are my questions: Is there any java LDAP search API supporting connecting the Active Directory through channel binding? Will the default value of LdapEnforceChannelBinding become 1(enabled) or 2(enabled always) after 2020 updating?chase-wangJan 21, 2020Copper Contributor2.2KViews2likes1CommentReal time protection - slowing down app start Windows server 2016
Hello, We have a scientific software developed in Java using the Eclipse RCP. One of our users is complaining about very slow startup times on a Windows Server 2016. The server configuration looks good, 108GB RAM, so based on that I would discard slow hardware. When the software is executed, it takes a while (sometimes 2-3 minutes) to actually open the program and sometimes the "Not Responding!" system error message is shown. Running the software on Windows 10 I have seen that the "Antimalware Service Executable" process gets high CPU usage during the startup of our software, then it gets lower and the application UI is shown. The application is signed using a globalising certificate. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this? Recently i have got a 1080 ti and an 8700K in my system and I'm trying to get into streaming to twitch and uploading to youtube here and there. I have a 1440p monitor too, which might be causing some of my problems. Currently I use nvenc because x264 usually looks super choppy. I feel like using x264 would be more ideal in this scenario since I'm gaming at 1440p which generally lessens the load on the CPU, but for whatever reason that is not the case. I can stream pretty well at 720p 30 frames, but I'd really like to be able to stream at 60 frames. It's soooo close to being good at 60 frames, but it's just a little too stuttery for my taste. What sort of things should I adjust in order to get that sweet sweet 60 frames? or what settings should I run to get x264 working smoothly? I currently run 2500 bitrate since im not an affiliate yet. Bicubic downscale filter. I also have a laptop with an 8400 and a 1050 that I could get a capture card and use as a streaming PC if you guys think that would be a good idea. Please help me with the input Thanks in AdvancebartthemustangMay 07, 2019Copper Contributor1.3KViews1like0Comments"Windows Server 2012 Essentials" => Updates gehen nicht
