Announcing a Windows Server AMA
We are very excited to announce a Windows Server AMA! The AMA will take place on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. PT in the Windows Server AMA space. Add the event to your calendar and view it in your time zone https://www.myeventurl.com/Events/Details/263. An AMA is a live text-based online event similar to a “YamJam” on Yammer or an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit. This AMA gives you the opportunity to connect with Microsoft product experts who will be on hand to answer your questions and listen to feedback. The space will be open 24 hours before the event, so feel free to post your questions anytime beforehand during that period if it fits your schedule or time zone better.Dylan_SnodgrassMay 25, 2021Silver Contributor5.9KViews7likes2CommentsHas there been any significant development / bugfixes around classic roles in 2022?
We know Azure is getting all the love, but has there been any significant / any improvement or development work at all for classic, core roles like AD DS/ADCS, Fileserver/DNS/dhcp etc? It would seem to me that since 2016 nothing has significantly changed with that regards. If you compare a gap of major release, like 2008 to 2012 - its so much different - whereas in most cases - 2016-2022 versions are quite alike in terms of feature parity. It kind of looks like life support, not an active development 😞 Best regards! Alex P.AlexPawlakJun 02, 2021Brass Contributor1.2KViews3likes2CommentsHotpatch or equivalent for on-prem servers
The hotpatch feature for Azure is great but on-prem servers are long overdue for a replacement or new method of patching that isn't WSUS or WSUS managed by Endpoint Manager. We limit our product sync and every month the server chokes for hours trying to synchronize the WSUS database after updates are released. Help me not have to stay up to 10 PM trying to simply release patches.SolveddavidmbahmJun 02, 2021Brass Contributor5KViews3likes5Commentswindows datacenter firewall - micro segmentation
