Why does WS want so much space now?

Why does Windows Server needs 400 GB for the system partition now (this is from Server 2019)? A basic hypervisor installation uses less than 40 GB on the system volume.

  • I'm not sure on this one, nothing has changed in the context of Windows Server system partition requirements. 400 GB is not required, and it looks like just a warning for a recommendation that you can bypass. It could be a bug, would need investigation. Obviously a huge number of Windows Servers are running in VMs, where this makes no sense.

Yes, you are right, this is just a warning, still a bizarre looking one. Could you please file an internal bug regarding this?
