Cannot delete organisation from Teams
Hi, It appears to be impossible to delete an organization from Teams Please see the picture below. I am unable to remove the organization beginning with L. I have used my personal email for many years, so I should be the one in control of it! I am the owner/ admin of the email account. However there is no way to delete the rogue /linked organization to which I no longer have access. How can I take back full control of my email/Teams account and remove this rogue organization? I've clicked on everything I can find and nowhere else mentions this organization. Clicking on the organization in Teams just takes me to a page saying "Microsoft Teams Free (Classic) is no longer available" with options to upgrade. I don't want to upgrade I want it deleted! I am losing my mind trying to
I tried to post this discussion under my work email Teams account and it does nothing. When registering to post a discussion, I am presented with two accounts to choose from, I select my work one, and it just refreshes to the same page. Hence I'm posting from my personal account. That issue is frustrating and makes no sense but is secondary to the following... When I receive a Teams invite from a client, in the last couple of months I have been having problems getting in. It goes around in a massive pointless circle. I click the invite link, I chose the option to 'Open Microsoft Teams'. I get a box with the message 'You're missing out! Ask your admin to enable Microsoft Teams for *my work email address*. It says I'm currently signed in on my work email address and to 'Select Sign up for Teams to continue'. So I click that then enter my work email address and it says 'Looks like you're using a work or school account' and to sign in. So I click 'Sign In' and it gives me a box 'Welcome to Microsoft Teams!' and the option to Continue as *my work email address*. So I choose that and it goes right back to 'You're missing out!'. How on earth am I supposed to use Teams to collaborate with my clients?!! There is no one else but me in my business, there is no IT Admin to check with. Can someone please help?!!TarshGMay 30, 2023Copper Contributor1.7KViews0likes5CommentsError code - online_check_failed: exceeded retry attempts
I am getting the error as Teams initially starts but fails to connect, I used to have an account that worked perfectly with Teams but due to costs, I have changed out for a personal account in Office 365. Now it seems that Teams is no longer able to verify and I suspect it is trying to do so with the old account. I have checked the internet connection and if the firewall is blocking Teams. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Teams (various versions of it) about 25 times now and looked at any updates that may have resulted in conflicts. I am at a loss. Have looked at other postings pertaining to the same error, and nothing helped.SolvedcwevensonSep 05, 2023Copper Contributor5.3KViews0likes4CommentsAbout Microsoft Teams (free) and Microsoft Teams Free (classic) versions
Hello all, is there a way to determine by version if MS Teams application already installed and in use is a new/current Microsoft Teams (free) version rather than older Microsoft Teams Free (classic) one ? I'm asking this because my own Windows client PC received MS Teams v1.6.00.11166 upgrade back on Wed 17 May over previous v1.6.00.6754 (received on Fri 4 April) and after that I've unsuccessfully tried to Sign up for current MS Teams (free) I also learned that v1.6.0.11166 is also current version for downloadable MS Teams (free) small setup file (called TeamsSetup_c_w_.exe) that is being made available for Work or School usage. P.S. After reading 'Switch from Microsoft Teams Free (classic) to Microsoft Teams (free)' I also learned that current MS Teams (free) version was released in 2020, so because my 1st installation was v1.4.00.2879 back on 23 February 2021 I'm also even wondering If I've always already had current MS Teams (free) instead of older MS Teams Free (classic)... 😮 Thanks in advance for next replies RobSwimmeRMMay 30, 2023Iron Contributor13KViews0likes4CommentsHow to Use Copilot with Microsoft Teams
In today’s fast paced work environment, good collaboration is the backbone of any successful team. Microsoft Teams has emerged as one of the leading platforms for communication and collaboration, and with the addition of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Teams is now supercharged with AI powered assistance. If you’re looking to streamline teamwork, organize projects, and enhance productivity, Copilot in Microsoft Teams offers robust features that make managing tasks, meetings, and communication more intuitive and effective. In this post, we’ll explore what Copilot brings to Microsoft Teams, how to use its features to streamline your workflows, and ways to leverage it to take collaboration to the next level. What is Microsoft 365 Copilot? Before diving into its capabilities in Microsoft Teams, it’s important to understand what Microsoft 365 Copilot is. Built on OpenAI’s advanced language model, Copilot is designed to be a proactive assistant that integrates seamlessly within Microsoft 365 apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and, of course, Teams. It works by offering real time suggestions, automating repetitive tasks, and providing insights based on the data at hand. In Microsoft Teams, Copilot is particularly geared toward improving team collaboration and project management. Whether you’re coordinating a project, leading a meeting, or managing team files, Copilot’s capabilities can help make the experience smoother and more efficient. Key Features of Copilot in Microsoft Teams Copilot’s functionality in Microsoft Teams covers a wide range of collaboration activities, from generating meeting summaries to assisting with action item tracking. Here are the standout features Copilot brings to Teams: Intelligent Meeting Summaries and Notes Copilot can automatically generate meeting summaries, capturing key points, action items, and decisions made. This is especially useful for team members who couldn’t attend a meeting or need a quick recap. You can even prompt Copilot to highlight specific topics discussed during the meeting, making it easy to focus on the areas that matter most. Real-Time Task Assignments and Follow-Ups During meetings, Copilot can help track and assign tasks in real time, ensuring that action items are never lost in the shuffle. It identifies follow-up tasks discussed in the meeting and creates assignments for each team member. Once tasks are assigned, Copilot tracks them and provides updates, so you always have a clear view of the project’s progress. Instant Summaries of Chat Conversations In Teams, conversations often contain valuable insights, project updates, and decisions that are important for everyone involved. However, sifting through lengthy chats can be time consuming. Copilot’s chat summarization feature lets you generate quick overviews of long conversations, making it easier to stay informed without having to scroll through entire chat histories. Enhanced File Search and Suggestions Teams files and resources are scattered across different channels and groups, making it challenging to locate the right document quickly. Copilot’s intelligent search capabilities make it easy to find specific files based on content, keywords, or even project details. Additionally, it suggests files and resources that are contextually relevant to the current conversation or meeting, saving time and reducing interruptions. Proactive Insights and Data Analysis Copilot doesn’t just passively wait for instructions; it actively looks for ways to assist you by analyzing patterns within Teams. For example, it can identify recurring topics, flag potential project bottlenecks, and offer suggestions on optimizing workflows. This feature can help team leaders and project managers identify opportunities to improve team efficiency, spot areas of concern, and make data-driven decisions. Step-by-Step Guide to Using Copilot in Microsoft Teams Now that we’ve covered the capabilities of Copilot in Teams, here’s a step by step guide on how to use it effectively: Setting Up and Accessing Copilot in Teams If you’re using Microsoft 365 with a Copilot subscription, Copilot should automatically be accessible within Teams. You can find it in the Teams app menu, where it’s integrated into chat, meetings, and files. Ensure you have the latest version of Microsoft Teams installed, and Copilot should be readily available for use. Note that some features may be gradually rolled out, so check for updates if you don’t see Copilot immediately. Using Copilot for Meeting Summaries When a meeting begins, Copilot will automatically listen for key points, action items, and decisions being made. You can also use commands to ask Copilot for specific information, such as “Summarize today’s project discussion.” After the meeting, Copilot can send a complete summary with bullet points, assigned tasks, and key takeaways, which can be shared with attendees or saved for reference. Task Assignment and Follow Up Tracking During discussions, mention action items and responsible individuals clearly. Copilot will recognize these mentions and create tasks accordingly. Once assigned, Copilot provides regular updates on the progress of these tasks. To see a task list or update the status of an assignment, simply ask Copilot within the relevant channel or conversation. Generating Summaries for Ongoing Conversations In busy chat channels, ask Copilot for a “summary of the recent conversation” to get an overview of the discussion highlights. Copilot’s summarization feature is a great way to catch up if you’ve been away or need a quick refresher before responding to a message. Finding Relevant Files Quickly Use Copilot’s search by typing specific file-related queries like “find last week’s project report” or “locate the marketing presentation.” Copilot can also provide suggestions for files based on the conversation context, helping you quickly share relevant resources without interrupting the flow of a discussion. Analyzing Patterns and Insights In Teams, go to the Insights tab where Copilot provides analytical insights, identifying recurring issues or areas of focus based on chat and meeting data. For project managers, asking Copilot for a “progress update” or “bottleneck analysis” can reveal useful metrics, such as delayed tasks or frequently mentioned project risks. Tips for Maximizing Productivity with Copilot in Teams Use Natural Language Commands: Copilot is designed to understand conversational commands, so feel free to use natural language. Try asking it questions like, “What were the key points from yesterday’s meeting?” or “Who is responsible for the upcoming deadline?” Encourage Team Members to Adopt Copilot: To fully leverage Copilot’s collaborative features, encourage everyone on your team to use it actively. This allows Copilot to create a holistic view of team interactions, making its suggestions and insights more effective. Regularly Review Copilot’s Suggestions: While Copilot can automate and assist, it’s always beneficial to review its summaries and suggestions for accuracy. This ensures that important details are not overlooked, and action items remain relevant. Sum up The Future of Collaboration with Copilot in Teams With Copilot, Microsoft Teams goes beyond being a communication platform; it becomes a proactive partner in your team’s daily operations. By automating routine tasks, tracking conversations, and providing insights, Copilot helps you focus on what truly matters achieving your team’s goals. Whether you’re managing a small team or leading a large project, Copilot is a powerful tool that simplifies the complexities of modern collaboration4.5KViews0likes2Comments"Add required attendees" field not showing anymore
Hi, When scheduling a meeting in Teams (free usage with a gmail account) the "Add required attendees" field is missing since last week. This issue has not occurend during the past year or so. Already did a reinstall of the Teams app on the respective Windows PC and also tried it on an iPad but ran into the same problem. It also does not make a difference whether the classic or new version of Teams is used. Maybe it has to do with expiration of the free usage period, although I could not find anything about the existance of such period.. Your help would be much appreciated.LloydzhJul 22, 2024Copper Contributor803Views0likes2CommentsRecover Microsoft Teams free account
I set up a Microsoft Teams free account back in 2021 using my personal Live account. For convenience, I granted my work account access. I rarely check the mailbox for my personal live account. Recently, I was having issues loading the Microsoft Teams site. I checked my personal mailbox and found emails saying I need to log in to the Teams account before December 15 2023 to keep it. D'oh! Is there any way to get the free account reinstated? I have the main document libary synced with OneNote, but my computer only has the file stubs. I don't need any chat historyIvan WilsonJan 27, 2024Copper Contributor1.6KViews0likes2Comments
