Sync new Edge favorites with IE
We need a favorites sync with legacy IE, like old Edge did (https://www.windowscentral.com/how-keep-favorites-synced-between-microsoft-edge-and-ie-windows-10#sync_favorites_ie_edge_gpedit) ! If this wil not come, we need to put the bookmarks (afvorites) to a network share (homdrive).Thilo LangbeinJul 30, 2019Iron Contributor31KViews10likes25CommentsForce Enable Sync Services
I know there is policies to disable sync, but I'm having troubles with users being auto-enabled for sync on their account. It would be optimal from an IT perspective if we could choose what services to allow to sync, and to force enable those.Dustin_HalvorsonJan 09, 2020Iron Contributor6.2KViews10likes19CommentsPolicy needed: "Go to an intranet site for a one-word entry in the Address bar"
For enterprise a policy like the one in IE called "Go to an intranet site for a one-word entry in the Address bar" is very needed. As an enterprise we have a lot of intranet sites and services using one-word hostnames and abreviations like "mc", "servicedesk" etc. that our users are used to just being able to type in their browser. In Edge that will just launch a search on Google or Bing instead. Teaching the users to type http:// every time is nearly impossible and not very user friendly. We use the policy in IE, but it sadly never came to Edge. It would be great if it could be added to the new Edge (Chromium) admx.SolvedToMMeRAug 02, 2019Brass Contributor20KViews9likes53CommentsPolicy /ADMX to enforce Synchronization with Azure AD account
Hello Insiders, when configuring Edge via ADMX / Intune I am missing one hugely important option: The is currently no template to enforce the synchronization with an Azure AD account. In the initial setup experience the user must actively opt-in to activate the sync. In enterprise environments we must ensure that favorites are automatically backed up (in case of device change etc.). It is not possible to trust that the users activates this setting on its own (they also might not understand the impact or just skip this step without reading). Such policy would be great - and it is also a key point for a wider roll out in several projects.SteffenGKMar 13, 2020Brass Contributor1.2KViews8likes2CommentsRoaming Profile Support - GPO
Are there any plans to have roaming profile support for Edge Chromium (profile.pb)? This would be a requirement for us to use Edge Chromium in a Citrix environment which uses Microsoft roaming profiles. Changing "user data dir" path to roaming profiles will cause profile bloat and is not a good solution in large roaming profile environments. https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7349337?hl=en SetRoamingProfileSupportEnabledcafardijmJan 08, 2020Brass Contributor6.5KViews8likes4CommentsEdge support for Office 365/Azure AD tenant restrictions
It would be great to see Edge support similar functionality to what exists in Chrome/Edge for Google Workspace but for Office 365/Azure AD. Specifically, to restrict which 365 accounts you can sign into in Edge in an enterprise environment, you need to deploy a proxy or a custom extension to be able to set tenant restriction headers. The following headers "Restrict-Access-To-Tenants" and " Restrict-Access-Context" need to be set, per the docs https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/manage-apps/tenant-restrictions However, Google Workspace has this exact feature built into and it's MUCH easier and pretty much the same thing can be done by setting the AllowedDomainsForApps policy. This sets the " X-GoogApps-Allowed-Domains" header for all google.com requests without needing any proxy or extension. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#alloweddomainsforapps It would be great to see Office 365 supported out of the box in both Edge and Chrome without having to deploy a proxy just for setting this header.alex335678Feb 01, 2023Brass Contributor1.5KViews7likes2CommentsSupport NoFrameMerging in Edge IE Mode
We have applications that require separate process trees when running in Internet Explorer. With Edge IE Mode there does not appear to be a way to accomplish the same functionality as was available in IE with noframemerging. Having this feature implemented would be a great help with allowing our applications to move to Edge with IE Mode.Jeff1000Oct 19, 2020Copper Contributor10KViews7likes4CommentsMicrosoft Edge User Content for Communication and Training

Hello, We would like to see support for "RoamingProfileLocation" like Chrome has. We use this so favorites, passwords, ... is stored on our fileserver. Whenever a user moves to another desktop they still have their own favorites and passwords. With Edge the only option is to move the UserDataDir (and move back the DiskCacheDir). But even then there is way too much data synced between the fileserver and the clients. This is especially an issue when working over VPN. Anyone else having this issue, or a fix for this problem? regards, StijnStijn_H_vdkJan 13, 2020Copper Contributor3.1KViews7likes6Comments
