Why Is Microsoft resetting my default search engine to Bing without my permission?
Earlier today I was carrying out a search and a window popped up stating that an application outside Google had changed my default search engine. When I checked, all my search engines listed in the Address Bar Search settings had been deleted, and Bing (which I had deleted) had replaced them. As I understand it, this is a breach of the UK Computer Misuse Act as it was carried out without first obtaining my consent to make the changes. Once again, Micr*sl*p is trying to force me to use their rubbish applications.
I was suspended from Microsoft rewards PLEASE HELP
I have used micrsoft rewards for about 4 years now I have never botted or anything I have stayed in the supported countries ect. The only thing I can think that might of possibly set off the flagging system is a few months ago I tried redeeming a gift card it would take my points but fail to give me the gift card, so I tried to redeem it a few times more but it didnt work. I contacted support about it and got it fixed, so maybe the flagging system thought I was trying to automate redeeming gift cards? (it was about a two week gap between that bug and me getting suspended) I have contacted suport about my suspension multiple times the first one being more then a month ago, they asked for more details then I never heard back from them again. Second time they said "we believe that your account has been violating out terms and conditions, but if you have any extra details or you think it was an error please reply to this message" so that what I did, they never replyied. I emailed them another 4 or so times opened more tickets, but they havent even said a thing sense.
Managing Googlebot/Bingbot Exclusions in Security JavaScript without Impacting SEO
I need to add an important security related javascript on my HTML pages that detects a few signals like presence of selenium variables in widnow/document objects. Once something is detected, a request is sent to my backend to capture this data. Googlebot / bingbot may also emit some of these signals (I am tracking 20+ signals) & these bots make thousands of visits to my various webpages. So somehow I do not want to execute the script for these bots. 1. If I use useragent, either on backend to totally exclude this script for googlebot or on frontend to not execute the script - will it be safe for my SEO? Can Googlebot penalize this assuming script is used for cloaking etc.? 2. How bot detection companies like Human Security (PerimeterX) manage this? Do they track even Googlebot activity?
Issue: Accessing Business Account on Bing Places for Business
I recently have been signed out of two of my business Bing accounts. Upon signing in, I get a notification that says: Every time I try logging in I get that notification. Even though it is only associated with the email I have. I ultimately decided to make another account and try to reclaim my business. However, when asking for permission to manage the account, it requires approval from the account I cannot get into. Does anyone have any guidance? Good day, I have installed Bing App on Android phone. I can search a location, say Munich, I can click on "Navigate" the app moves to Bing Maps and I am shown the itinerary. If I press start the app opens googlemaps. I would like to use the navigation in BingMaps? Anybody an idea?Bing Wallpaper app - "Desktop click opens Bing" ignored...
Surely this bug is well known - it's been present for a month or so now. Steps to reproduce. Toggle setting: "Desktop click opens Bing" On then Off. Clicking the Desktop will open Bing - once. Every day or so (it's hard to know), a desktop click also opens Bing. Please fix Microsoft - it's a real PITA! :) Cheers, Duncan.
Copilot on Edge Android InPrivate Now Requires Sign‑In — Guest Mode No Longer Accessible
Hello, I’m experiencing an issue when trying to use Copilot on the web while browsing in InPrivate mode on Microsoft Edge for Android. Until recently, I was able to open Copilot and start a guest conversation without signing in. This allowed me to keep separate chats easily. Starting today, whenever I open the Copilot website in an InPrivate tab, I immediately get a pop‑up screen that says: > Sign in to Copilot > Upload files, use Voice without limits, and make Copilot yours with memory across conversations. It then gives me three sign‑in options: Microsoft, Apple, and Google. None of these let me continue as a guest, and there is no “Maybe later” or “Continue without signing in” option anymore. Problem I am no longer able to access Copilot as a guest. The sign‑in screen appears every time, and I cannot bypass it. It seems like guest access has been removed, at least on Edge Android InPrivate. Expected Behavior Previously, Copilot allowed free guest access without requiring an account login. I would like to continue using Copilot in this way, especially for keeping conversations separate. Actual Behavior Copilot forces a sign‑in screen and does not allow guest access at all. Questions 1. Has guest access to Copilot been officially removed? 2. Is this change intentional or a temporary bug? 3. Can the previous behavior be restored so users can chat without signing in?
