Why is my sync account being logged out automatically every day?
Being automatically logged out in Edge with my private sync / Microsoft account happens on the up-to-date version of Windows 11 Pro with the normal current version of Edge. I have only a single Edge profile which is private and neither Windows nor Edge is managed by a corporation. However, I edited some policies. So, it may appear to Windows or Edge that there is corporate management. "Passwordless account" and "Two-step verification" are both switched off. I do have another corporate account to access M365 which is MFA protected (Microsoft authenticator). Also there I am automatically been logged out on a daily basis. In the latest version of MS Edge, we cannot view or access the SAML Certificate data for Enterprise Applications hosted in Entra ID. Before: (v146.0.3856.62) After updating to v147.0.3912.16: As can be seen, the certificates cannot be displayed or accessed from this tile. At this point we do want to make any website behave like an application. It only has to be added as an application with the possibility of setting a name from the beginning. This is useful when you have more than one profile in the browser. I can install the web X for profile 1 with the name X-1 and the same web X for profile 2 with the name X-2. But the problem is when I install a PWA whose name is already set. And it is not possible to change it from any page. So when I want to install Outlook for my 3 profiles, I'm left with the same name for all 3 profiles preventing quick identification. My proposal would be to allow the App Manager to change the name of the PWA and thus better identify it from the start menu and also from the shortcuts that are created.7KViews12likes13CommentsEdge PDF reader comment issue
Hi all, I tumbled upon an issue with Edge PDF reader, while adding comments in a PDF document. Issue While adding comments in my document, everything was working fine until it wasn't (added around ten comments before it stopped working). Basically I'm able to open the comment popup and type my comment, but unable to validate it. However, it seemed to me that it's a mouse focus issue. How to reproduce it I got the issue while using two Edge windows side by side on the same monitor (each taking half the screen), while having a second monitor (that I use for other stuff) aside. The problem seems to solve itself somehow after some time when closing one of the two Edge window and putting the other in full screen. When I try to add a comment, I first highlight the text, then clic on the comment button on the popup menu and type my comment. However, when I want to validate the comment, the wrong cursor is displayed when I hover the "validate" button (the text insert cursor instead of the hand). I have to clic once (the text in the PDF doc previously highlighted is no more) which change the cursor to an arrow, then another clic which closes the comment menu, whitout adding the comment. Workaround I managed to add a comment in this situation by typing the comment, then using the tab key to select the "validate key" and press the enter key, and it worked. On a side note, I find it quite complicated to submit feedback, I think I spent a good half an hour before reaching this forum (I don't even know if it's the right place). As soon a single policy is set for Microsoft Edge, either through group policy or registry, the Edge Secure Network becomes unavailable. There needs to be a policy to enable it again. Hello, I would like to report a regression affecting Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Starting with version 145.0.3800.70, and still present in the current stable version 145.0.3800.82, closing the Edge window causes the desktop icons to flicker for about one second, as if the desktop is being refreshed. This issue occurs only on Windows 10. On Windows 11, the same versions of Edge do not produce this behavior. Hi, I noticed that some of my customers with MS 365 Basic and Business Standard plans can sync their MS Edge information, while others can't. Based in this article, sync only works with plans that include Azure AD Premium P1 and P2, Microsoft 365 Business Premium, and EDU. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-enterprise-sync Could it be that MS is starting to expand to smaller plans? Hello, I’m experiencing a persistent issue with Microsoft Edge Workspaces and I’m looking for guidance from the Edge team or community. Whenever I try to open or create a Workspace, I get the error: “Unable to load workspaces”. What makes this issue particularly concerning is that it happens: - On multiple Windows PCs - On a Linux PC (Ubuntu) - On Edge Stable and Edge Canary - Always with the same Microsoft account Troubleshooting already attempted: - Sign out / sign in - Full Edge reset - Cache and cookies cleared - Sync disabled and re-enabled - Sync data reset - Verified no Workspaces folder exists in OneDrive - Tested with Edge Canary Since the error reproduces consistently across different machines and operating systems, this does not appear to be a local installation issue. It looks like a corruption or invalid state of the Edge Workspaces data stored in my Microsoft account. Unfortunately, this is a free account, so I have no direct channel to request a backend reset of the Workspaces data. Has anyone from the Edge team seen similar cases? Is there a way to trigger a reset or cleanup of Edge Workspaces data at the account level? Any help or escalation would be greatly appreciated. Hello, with v145 the EdgeSafeHostingExtensionEnabled policy was introduced. The description says, "Microsoft Edge Safe Hosting component extension is installed automatically when users visit supported Microsoft services, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot app." Is this a regular browser extension? If so, what is the related Extension ID? How does this combine with other extension management policies? Or is it a browser component, which should show up under edge://components? I switched from using Chrome to edge as it seems to run smoother on desktop and Android. One thing that I miss the most is the grouped tabs view at the bottom of the screen, I used that all the time when on chrome to go from one tab to another in that specific group easily if I open a bunch of links when looking for something. I have 4 workspaces, reserved for different projects. Several have pinned tabs that I frequently use. When I open the Edge icon on my taskbar, only the first workspace opens, and, without me requesting it, it has added about 20 tabs that I don't want, probably from another workspace. Hi, I've searched for similar issues and couldn't find anyone else with the same problems. 1) Cannot custom sort favorites. For instance, inside my favorite bar, have a folder name Folder A -> which contains fav1, fav2 and fav3. If I try and reorder them to fav3, fav1 and fav2, as soon as I closed and reopen edge it revert back to how it was before. 2) I have a fav4, fav5 and fav6 in the favorite bar. If I try and delete them, as soon as I close and reopen edge, it restores them again. I believe this might have something to do with syncing. I've tried to disable and re-enable but the problem persists. Couldn't find information where it store the data to delete and restore myself.
